2 edk 12's both in 1.5 cuft each ported tuned to 30 hz or so ran by a soundstream rub1000-2

or 1 15A in a 2.5 cu ft box ported tuned at about the same frequency ran by an avionixx 800.2?

this is in my 97 accord sedan. i've got some 4 guage that i already pulled out of my car, will i have to run 0 guage do you think?

i know they'll sound equally awesome in the SQ department, with the 15 sounding better even, but i wanna know what'll get louder since i know they'll sound awesome either way i go

anyway, thanks

No...

more cone area doesn't always mean more air is being moved...

It's all about displacement //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I'd go with the 15A...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
thats what i was thinking too

safer power range from the amp and the ability to get stupid loud with 1 15

For the price you would pay for that one 15, you should get two Dayton DVC 15's and be done with it. $273 shipped.

yeah i know that it doesn't ALWAYS mean more, but in that case I think it would. Is he giving the K's the right amount of airspace vented anyways?

are these the subs your taking about

ehhhh id take a shiva over that, especially a 15a or 2ks.

more cone area = more air displaced with a given excursion.

^ this is what i should have written ^

and was trying to convey

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif happy? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That said...

A 12" sub with 1" p-p excursion will always displace more air than a 10" sub with 1" p-p excursion. Excursion increases displacement as well and the two work together to determine bass extension potential, SPL, etc.

Oh, and just so you know, Dan of Adire Audio says that the Dayton DVC 15'' is a "tempest clone". So put that in your pipe. The Shiva is an older design anyways. I am in no way downplaying their ability to make a quality sub but so can Dayton.

Guaranteed, this sub will exceed your expectations.

I'll have to look around for the paper, capone.
