What Would be better 1 15" 1 12" 1 10"?

Hi I'm looking at the Orion H2 10.2, 12.2, and 15.2. They all have 2000 RMS as you know. I know any of these will give pretty good SPL.

What's the best set up in trying to get the closest to 50/50 in SPL/SQ out of these... (i am space limited, i have a camaro, and also on a budget)

1 15" Sealed

1 15" Ported

1 12" Sealed

1 12" Ported

1 10" Sealed

1 10" Ported

Are any of these Set-ups i listed above better than 2 12" Alpine Type R's as far as SPL? as far are SQ?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I don't think they'd be better than 2 12 r's if both were properly setup.... could be wrong. As for which one...if ya have the space get the 15 and port that bish.

2 12" Type R's are 500 RMS each, so call it 1000 RMS. The H2 is 2000 RMS. Ya the type R's would be more surface area, but the H2 is double the RMS... You don't think the H2 would be louder? The alpine's might have the H2 in SQ i will admit that. My buddy just got 2 type R's and a JL 1000/1 amp, and i am determined to beat him.

Power Doesnt Mean Shit, and wether you are louding that your buddy will depend on your setups. Never use power ratings as a way to see what will get louder... it get just mean the other driver is terribly ineffiecient. Are you dead stuck on getting an h2? I've never heard one but have heard many problems with them.

**** that sucks bro.. One of my friends has an older camaro and he got 2 12' Fosgate T1's in np.. altho i think they were sealed =x

My friend has only one JL 1000/1 amp powering the 2 12" type R's. I Would venture to guess if i had a 1500 RMS powering a 15" H2 in a ported box, i would easily beat him in SPL, especially becuz my car is a hatchback and his is a 4 door sedan, so my subs would bounce right off my rear window and come straight at me. Fot those of you he disagree with me, or feel the the SQ in that set-up would be really really horrible, i ask you....would one 12" type X be a better idea? I would only get like a 1000-1200 RMS watt amp if that was the case.

Can anyone give me a 1-10 rating on Both SPL and SQ for each of these setups?

1 15" H2 Pealed

1 15" H2 Ported

1 12" H2 Sealed

1 12" H2 Ported

1 10" H2 Sealed

1 10" H2 Ported

1 12" Type X Sealed

1 12" Type X Ported

2 12" Type R's in Ported box

What i do know is...

With a Sealed box you get better SQ, worse SPL

With a Ported Box you get better SPL, worse SQ

I'm just trying to find a happy medium, and still be louder than 2 12" Type R's

I have a 1997, nice ride man, real nice. I'm jealous. I really want rims. i have the stock 16". Do you think there is enough room back there to do 1 15" ported? or any size sub ported?

As soon as i get my 12w7 i am going to port it. The box im going to get, or make is going to fill in the back well and have a cover on it so it blends in with the plastic pieces in the back of the car, kind of like the box i have now, but for only one sub
