Cable cutters, I have had the same pair for 10 years. as for crimping connectors on the big stuff,I use a vise or vise grips when in a pinch. Heat shrink the ends for a good insulator. At a competition one time I used a hammer and the edge of a curb for a 1/0 crimp.
cuts quick and clean. crimping 1/0 is a sinch. i use copper ring terminal. place them on the wire, lay it on the ground, and hammer it. i've been doing that for such a long time and never had any come loose.
