What to replace my Alpine CDA-7892 with?

I like this unit however, it's broke and I've had it fixed a couple of times now and it isn't worth fixing again.

What I liked about this HU: I loved the fully adjustable digital time correction. It also had very good sound quality. The unit I get to replace it must have fully adjustable DTC and at least as good SQ.

What I didn't like about it: Its pre-amp outs had such a high level of resistance that I had to have all the amp gains turned all the way up to get even a decent level of output. Hopefully its replacement will have better pre-amp outs.

I've been looking at some of the Eclipse units, but if there are some other ones I should be considering, please let know what they are. I've been away from car audio for a while and I'm out of touch with what's the latest and greatest.

My suggestion would be to buy one of the two Alpine CDA-7998 head units being offered on the forum at the moment - you won't be disappointed and I would take one over any Eclipse (Fujitsu Ten) unit from any era.

Why would you recommend this Alpine over an Eclipse? Generally speaking, most people claim the Eclipse HUs have better SQ than the Alpines.

The CDA-7998 is a very nice unit that is very easy to use.

I don't like the Alpine's pre-amp outs. The resistance level is way too high on them which basically negates any benefit you would otherwise get from 4v pre-amps outs. The resistance on them is something like 10K ohms, while the resistance on let's say the Pioneer pre-amp outs is only 100 ohms, which is infinitely better.
