What to pair with boston acoustic sr50's?

I just got a pair of boston acoustic sr50 component speakers for installation in my 06 hyundai sonata. I will need coaxial speakers in the rear because I dont have a place to mount a tweeter in the rear, and I dont have the money to do any mods. I was wondering what speakers you guys think I should use for the rears? I was considering the boston acoustic sr65's. I am just not sure they will be able to keep up with the sr50's but they do have pretty much the same wattage rating. What do you guys suggest? The speaker size is 6.5.

sr50 is a 5.25 the sr65 are 6.5 bigger cone = more sound...

either way they have to be amped.. Boston makes very very efficient speakers but the models you have will not sound good at all on just deck power..

not doing anything in the rear and amping the fronts is a good option..

if you just want some rear fill off deck power only the S series ( s65 or s65c ) will do quite well for that.

if you want it loud in the rear the PVI 216 quarts have a coaxially mounted tweeter option ( they are components but can be configured as a coax //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif )

I have a set of the SR80 up front and pvi216 coax mounted in my wifes minivan on a 4 channel amp and they blend very well

Wouldnt it make more sense to get a 4 channel amp and hook the rears up to it as well for best sound performance?
look at it this way....

you can get a set of coaxials for the rear & power the front rear w/ a small 4 channel....

or do away with the rear speakers & use the money saved to get a really nice 2channel amp to power the fronts.....

Rear speakers aren't needed unless you want them there for passengers or if you just like the way it sounds w/ speakers in the rear. Most people who build systems do away with rear fill. I suggest using the money left in your budget to get the nicest 2 channel you can to power your front components & run the stock rear speakers off the headunit. You can fade them in & out for when you have passengers. If you run a set of amplified front components you'll see that rear speakers aren't needed.

What kind of amp would you suggest? I was looking at the boston acoustic gt275. Im not really familiar with boston acoustic amps though. I was also looking into memphis because i have a memphis amp for my subs and love it.

If you want a 2channel I have a brand new ZED AUDIO amplifier that will beat any small 2-channel boston acoustic or memphis have ever made....if you arent comfortable buying from me or anyone else on here check out the mb quart discus series on sonicelectronix.com....they are a very popular brand for budget amps.

What are the specs and how much?
$160 shipped & insured via PayPal ...I can ship it tomorrow if you're interested.

It's brand new in the box. It will do 10-15% watts rms more than what it is rated for, those are 12V ratings. It has better SQ then any mainstream amplifier (Boston Acoustic, Kicker, Memphis, JL Audio) that you will find in that price range....hands down. I can PM you pics of it if you'd like....

specs:

d/b rating: 97

> 0.05% THD

12V ratings:

75w x 2 @ 4ohm

125w x 2 @ 2ohm

I agree the amp he has is an awesome amp and would literally dump on most anything new for good quality and power output ( and the price is really good too.. )

and also on the discus amp he mentioned

but do not ever buy from sonic if you care about the warranty.... pay a little more and buy it from onlinecarstereo they are the only authorized Maxxsonics dealer on the web..

thanks =] ....you'll spend $400 retail to get a newer model amplifier of the same quality as the ZED Crunch.....

& I didn't know that about sonic....good info.

OP you have a PM....

our distro warehouse in Oakland is there supplier for Maxx products and they give them 0 warranty as per Maxxsonics agreement that only OCS is an authorized web dealer.

sonic buys alot and gets awesome pricing so they sell it for minimal profit margin and usually there is not an issue with warranty but for a few bux more OCS can usually beat even my prices because they do so much volume..

and yeah we don't get along but I am far from a tool..

the amp you have is worth it's weight in gold compared to the new stuff out there lol

I know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif .....I don't wanna sell it, but........ bills > car audio

OP ....

Let me know what you think. If you'd rather go a different route we'll hook you up with good deals online.
