What to do to a 2000 Cougar...

Hey, I've never posted in here before, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what I could do to the inside of my car. It's a silver, 2000 Cougar. So far, all I've done is install a few neons. What are some other things that would be pretty cool to do to the interior, that's not too expensive and easy for someone like me (who has not worked ona car's interior much) to do?

Thanks for any help

I looked at those carbon fiber trim kits and I really like them. How would you go about installing one though? Basically, I need to know what goes into it so I know the degree of difficulty...

thanks

I know on some of the kits I've used...the installation is as follows:

1. Dry-fit all components of the kit. You'll want to heat the piece up a little bit so it fits easier - remember, it's an artistic process, not mechanical.

2. Prepare the surface for mounting. You'll want to clean the surface with alcohol wipes, to remove all of the dirt and excess oils from your dash. Give it time to completely dry.

3. Apply the contact "cement" that comes with the kit. You'll want to apply it lightly the actual dash...let it dry for a couple minutes, and dont let it drip on your interior.

4. Apply the pieces of your new dash kit. You'll want your car warm...like 80+ degrees. Warm each piece with a blow-dryer...until it becomes flexible. Remove the tape from the back of the piece and install. Do it carefully...make sure do it right the first time.

This doesn't apply to all kits...some just snap into place over the factory dash.

Ah, thank you very much. See, I thought that it was something where you actually remove pieces of the dash and replace them with the carbon fiber pieces...this is much easier, provided that you are careful, than I thought. Thanks again, man.

You can get more expensive kits that actually replace pieces of the dash...wouldn't that be fun;)

Hmm...just humor me...how do you do those? Ha, see, now I'm curious, 'cause I know know a guy with a carbon fiber dash in his SVT Focus, and it's really tight. So, how do you install those? I mean, since you have to remove things, obviously, to get panels and such off, how do you do that? Overall: What goes into installing one of those kits?

Thanks, =-=colin-=-

The aftermarket panels are basically stock dash pieces with the carbon fiber, aluminum, or what have you, applied to the piece already...but it's like 1/4" thick or whatever as opposed to gluing the the thinner stuff to the stock dash panels.

Pop the old ones off, pop the new ones on...easy.
