ok i posted this in another thread, but really this is starting to annoy me ALOT!!!

Pioneer puts out 2 sets of Speakers with different model numbers (TS-A6982R TS-A942P) names one premier other isn't but the specs are identical!!! and the price is Identical!! SO what gives???? there HAS to be a difference doesn't there?? If so why do it?? I coudl see if it was marketing and they charge more for premier, fine i get it i got my answer. That's not the case though...so why did they do it?? Anyone know? IS there a difference in the two speakers? please someone tell me it is killing me right now!

usualy the premier is slightly more expensive... the premier comes with a 2 year warranty isntead of 1 and usualy they put slightly better quality parts in the premier.. so ive heard from people that have actualy opened up their head units and such.

The REV or PRS sets are the only ones you should be looking at. Their budget ones aren't all that great anymore, still better than the junk Best Buy sells, cept Alpine. Alpine is a step up, even the Type-S is a better buy that 99% of the other stuff Best Buy has on their wall. Alpine Type-S, Type-R, Pioneer REV or if you don't mind spending a couple hundred, Alpine Type-X or Pioneer PRS.

- This is correct. It's also marketing. Plus, Premier may be available to different dealers than the regular line.... more marketing.

Premier line units had nicer software as well. My bud had a Premier, and another friend had a similar Pioneer unti (number plus a zero //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif) and one unit had the automatic speaker gain adjustment, and the Pioneer didn't. Price difference was I believe 20$ BNIB.

yeah its the preout voltage that's different.Premiere line has a higher preout V.
I have the DEH-P6900UB (2007 model) and the preout voltage is 4v. The premier is the same.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
