What test tones to play

probably low 40's

If you want to actually compete and do decent, you need to find the resonant frequency of you vehicle and tune accordingly, then burp accordingly. But with that tuning I'd imagine you'd peak in the low 40's. sit in your car and try frequencies between 38 and 48... burp with the one that sounds the loudest.

It would be much easier if you could get access to a mic.

when you go into the lanes for your qualifying run do a bass sweep from mid 30's up cut off around 50 and after the run walk over and see where you peaked at and burp with that note

Don't have access to a mic...I have a CD filled with test tones from 5hz- 60hz. Each track is 10secs long so I was planning on playing a few tracks for like 5 secs and switching it to a higher track. Should I see which one gets louder by having the volume low?

Will do...most people at the shows here play a song instead of test tones.

Listen to the other guy.... he's got a good plan.

I got a question...my back of my car rattles alot...should I add sound damping for SPL competition or nah? I don't really care about the SQ

What kind of car? I deadenededededed the trunk of my car and noticed a HUGE increae in output with my IKP's. I'd suggest doing the back, but I've heard from some people that doung the roof will sometime cause you to lose a little.

05 Expedition...I dont really need to do my roof but my back tail gate door goes crazy...everybody thinks that its going to burst open, my license plate is on by four bolts and it still flexs and trys to come off...From the back all you hear is vibration

i would start at like 38 and goto 45 and play them for like 2-3sec and goto the next song then may be try to go back to the highest one and play it again, to try and get a better score. When i had my rlp tuned at 35hz 42-43 seemed the loudest but doesnt mean it would be louder on a mic
