Hey guys, I am a new poster here. I have a 1982 Ford F150 single cab. I can either put 2 shallow mount 10s behind my seats or a single 12 as a middle console box. If I would get the single 12 I want to get a Kicker L7. Should I get the single Kicker L7 or 2 shallow mount 10s?

If you get a correctly done console box, and give the L7 plenty of airspace with a decent port you would get great enjoyment out of it. If you don't have the room to give it what it needs, go with 2 10s behind the seats that like small boxes.

why you want a L7 so much? how much you paying for it? are you looking for just loud bass or would you want it to sound good as well? what amp will you be using?

i want to spend about 270 on the sub(s). I have heard 2 L7s set up properly and they sounded amazing. If you have something else that will hit as hard and better SQ let me know. I am starting off from scratch with my audio so i still need to get amp, speakers, box, dampener, and head unit haha

Im having a hard time picturing a 2.5 cuft box in the center console in an older F150. A 10" could be more than adequate in such a small area.

What subs have you heard to compare the L7 to? I've heard one in three different boxes, and it sounds bad in all of them.

I havent really heard much of other subs but I also always see really good reviews of the L7s. What are the dimensions of a 2.5 cubic ft box? If y'all don't think the L7 is great, what do y'all recommend??

Exactly how where they set up? 350 is way too much for a console box and I'm betting it wouldn't be big enOugh since a 12 needs about the same space as a good 15...
This. Especially being an L7' date=' [u']and[/u] being ported. Sealed boxes take a lot less space, sometimes almost half the space of a ported box, but you'll lose some output. I'd go with 2 10s sealed behind the seats, or ported if you can get the room a ported box would need.

Hate to bash Kicker, but I would stray away from them..you can get a better sub for much cheaper. But it's your system, do what you want to do!
