sorta looks like it can move real far but its out of its gap that kind of fold it would have to be unless the surround is to small. if its not that then its not balanced...

Dimpling in the surround. You can see this on several drivers out there that use the butyl surround - ID Max, PG Ti Elite, this eD proto, several others.

I believe our Parthanon holds that record. I know RC's sub was big, but I don't know if it had much linear stroke.

It's a by-product of the type of surround used (the tall rubber surrounds)

squeak and mark: now that you explained what is, can you tell me, is it bad for it? i would assume not since you say it happens because of the surround. but like i said, is there a negative affect that ocurs from having the surround "dimple" like that?

Not within linear levels. Anything past linear and it's already irrelevant.
