I tried leaving a reply last night, but the forum F-ed up.
Component speakers are just a separate mid and tweet with a passive Xover. A coaxial speaker is a single mid. Most cases the tweeter is built in to the driver. And for a active setup, you just purchase the mid and tweet separately or in a set and use your own processing. IE = Xover.
I suggest you pick up a decent comp set for the front. And a nice set of coaxial for the rear.
Try to go to your local shops and have a listen. Try to find a set you like. Or start browsing here http://www.crutchfield.com/S-GEwuwl3blwx/cgi-bin/prodgroup.asp?g=410&avf=Y&skipvs=T&pg=2 I don't recommend purchasing from there, due to the price. But it's a great place to start.
Make sure you just do your research before you decide what to buy.
