What size do I need??

Running stock alt on a durango (iirc 130a) and doing big 3 with 2/0 welding wire rated at 280a. Plan to run an ANL fuse roughly 6 inches off the battery. Would 250 ANL be to much? I have never heard of a big 3 until recently therefore have no experience with them, but I would suspect that even with a larger gauge wire it will only draw the allotted amount of 130a, correct? Therefore a 150 ANL fuse would be more than enough currently??

well smaller fuses will choke the current flow so I fuse to the max amount for the wire to keep what I have done effective but still safe in the event of a crash the wire comes loose at the alt end an shorts out.

2/0 @ six feet will handle 250 amps just fine
