what screws to use?

i started using these bad boys recently....they really work well if you take your subs out of the box alot because eventually the holes that you screw into can get messed up and then you have to turn your subs a little bit crooked. Plus these help with security a bit since they are hex key slotted.

May need to look into those if I plan on having two boxes...you take your subs alot?

yeah---i change subs like underwear mang---at least 3 times yearly.

Oh thats not too much though. I was thinking of changing them between a high tuned box (47hz) to my daily driver (32hz) about every month for the local car shows that Carshowking holds.

then these are definately the ones you want man....you can get em at home depot or lowe's just add a lock washer to each one aswell to keep em from rattling loose.

They won't come off? They can handle powerful subs such as MTs Solo Xs etc...?

handled my XXX with no issues. The backside piece digs right into the wood and doesn't come out unless you pound/pry it out. The just screw in the machine screws with a lock washer and your good.

#8 are good. You can use a drop of Loctite Blue if you are worried about them coming loose. I haven't had a problem without Loctite, myself. Make sure you don't have the things crossthreaded and you'll be gtg.

If you do SQ comps, drywall screws will detract from the install score because they are not the correct fastener for the job. If you want to use a self threading screw you should use sheetmetal screws with a pan or button head rather than a bugle head drywall or deck screw. Same goes for mounting amps and other components.
