I still think it is the way scott has said it.....

His buddies wanted money and he was down for designing subs and getting them to the consumer for a downright cheap/affordable price direct to the consumer no dealers allowed.

He sold his share (they were going to sell out either way) and used that money to start up Fi.......

$2500 for a XXX....**** you RE/USamps.......I'd rather spend $900 on a JL 13w7 and even then you're still paying too much.

Most companies say hey,we can make this sub for this much and we'll sell it for this much! (Good price)

But then when more and more people start using that company and raving of how good it is and how it is a W7 Killer blah blah blah...

Well then that company says oh well we make the sub for this much and sel it for a reasonable price but seeing as how everyone loves us and is using us in Comps blah blah blah we'll jack the price sky high becuase these subs are worth it..............NO F'ing SUB IS WORTH $2000 OR EVEN $1000 IMVHO.

something like no one pays retail, and dealer prices havent changed,m and expanding the dealer network and blah. blah.

pretty much what robin said, well they are giving dealers the prices WAY below 2thousand dollars...i didnt know the msrp was that high. this gives dealers bargaining room when they make a sale. all they are doing is taking thier focus away from the internet and putting it on the dealers (hence the 2000 dollar prices on woofersetc, and what used to be ike) heck they aint even supposed to be on the net. have you gone to a local dealer (if you have one) and asked for a quote? if not you can have a dealer ship one to you iirc. just put it this way, you pay msrp B&M or online, you crazy unless its crutchfield.

How exactly are they raping you? Don't like the product or the price, don't buy it, pretty simple. There are tons of good products out there, pick who you want to give your money to and buy it.

What selling out means to me....

Selling out is when a company is at its peak and sells it and turns a unbelievable profit. Basicly they saved the company by selling out.

Look at it like this, if they didnt sell, there would be no RE, cant have cheap prices on nothing.

I admit the prices are kinda high for me... But theres alot of people out there willing to pay for it. They prolly wouldnt of ever known about RE until the sell out because of the direct stuff. just my 2cent
