What ohms can a headunit handle

I'm pretty sure you can wire speakers to 8 ohms per channel on a headunit, but can you wire them down to 2 ohms per channel or ir 4 ohms per channel the lowest you can? Thanks

I wouldn't do 2 Ohms on just any HU, but there might be an HU out there that is 2 Ohm stable for some reason. /shrug

they'll do 2 ohms but they don't like it. We did a pathfinder with 2 ohm speakers. sounded like *** but it worked. cut out at high volume, though.

8 ohms is fine.... no problem. you'll be losing power, though.

4 ohms. i put in my kenwood in my nissan. stock spkrs were 2 ohms and it cut out at high volume. installed new speakers and no problem.
