Ok now to Start off , I have an 04 Acura RSX and I am currently installing Kick pods that I've constructed over the last week or so . Im putting my Focal Polyglass V2 midranges in the Kicks , and will be trying a few different locations for the tweeters to see which sounds best . Now Im to throw some 6 1/2 midbass's in the doors , but im not exactly sure on which ones to go with . The doors max mounting depth is 2 3/4 so its limiting me to alot of speakers . Ive been looking at the Kicker 04SSMB6 midbass's which seem they will fit fine but I want a very good sounding speaker . The midbass's will be ran of the US amps xterminator 800.2 . If someone can please help me out with this and recommend other speakers or just post thier opinion's I'll highly appreciate and it will make my whole install go a bit quicker. Thank You

What's your crossover point? 200-300KHz?

I'd look into Seas or Vifa, personally...heck, they're cheap, but the Mach5 Audio MLI-65 does pretty well assuming you keep the Xover point low //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Louisiana_CRX good to know . Thanks man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif . JimJ ,the crossover is at 250hz. Ill have too look into the ones you listed above to see what the mounting depths are on them . Also will the US amps 800.2 do fine for my midbass speakers . I have never hooked it up yet to anything so im not sure what it about lol .

the mach 5 mli6 does really well. My brother has a pair in his TSX bp from

80hz - 2.5khz. nice midbass and smooth midrange IMO. I had to cut some metal on his door to make them fit, though, but it was worth it.

we maybe swapping them out for some Vifa pl18 7" when we have time.

To the OP, I would suggest fitting the biggest drivers you can in there for some nice midbass that goes nice and low to help pull your sub bass up front.

regardless your getting less power to your drivers. you want plenty of head room, if you want the speaker to really perform. on those drivers listed above(mb quart) they would mount right into your door without having to do any majior fab, and they have killer midbass....

Yea I would look into the 8 inch drivers but It would be a bit difficult to modify the door to make it fit right and have it look neat at the same time .. Hell, if they fit in fine I would definitly go with something like an 8 inch midbass .. So therefore I'll be sticking with the 6 1/2's . As for the MB Qaurts, do the Kicker 04SSMB6 compare to these ? .. I know its a major price difference between the two but would like to know If the sound of the speakers is a big difference ..

no comparison at all. the kickers can't touch those quarts. those drivers put out some serious midbass. they can mount into just about any door too.
