What kind of wood for box?

If i was making a box what would you guys suggest in the ways of wood. I'm gonna put the wood down then an inch of fiber glass. i heard somewhere on here that i should put rope in there to. would someone explain that to me? im curious to what the best way to do this would be. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Speaker boxes are generally made of MDF(Medium Density Fiberboard) 3/4"-1" thick.

Well mdf wood would be the best but i dont know anything about putting rope in there.

I think what you mean is wire for the fiberglass part of the enclosure to help you with forming the shape. I've never personally delt with fiberglass enclosures so I'm sorry I can't help you out with more than that.

I like partical board but make sure to resin the inside. As far as the rope you use wire to help make the shape then cover it with what ever fabric you want then lay your resin and fiberglass
