What kind of wire to ground RCA to chassis??

I am trying to do the ghetto fix for my pioneer 860, is all i have to do is put a wire into the RCA negative output and then ground it?/ "should" this completely eliminate any noise i have or will i still have some slight noise? i swapped out decks to a panasonic and have absolutely no noise, and was wondering if a slight bit would be noticed by doing this fix, thanks!

Is it possible it will, I had to do that with my Pioneer.
