What kind of tweeters should I buy? How many?

This will be the first time I add tweeters to my stereo system, my reason for adding them is... I'm stepping up my subwoofers with much more power handling, somewhere around 2000 RMS with 2

12s combined. I have a 4 channel amp running my 6.5s and 6x9s and it has kept my trebles and mids in sync with the bass thus far, but since I'm adding such a large amount of bass, I'll need to step up my highs further...

What kind of tweeters should I buy? I don't want some of the cheap *** 10$ a pair tweeters... I want some that come with the crossovers and have some good power handling and sound good at high volumes.

My next question... How many should I buy? I know I want to mount 2 on my front dash, one in each corner... Should I buy 2 more and put them on the rear deck? Or would 2 good high powered tweets do the trick?

-And this may be a newbie type question, but how would I wire them to the radio? Straight to it or what?

I got a set of cdt audio es 010 tweets, best tweets cdt makes they are regular 350.00 but i am selling mine for 130 shipped, they are like new. Only used them for 3 weeks while i had custom pods being made for my other set of es 010's.

I never thought it's a good idea to add tweeters individually. Tweeters are meant to work in unison with the woofers. If you have a high performance, sub stage, get high performance component speakers as well, unless you run active crossovers and want to mix and match tweeter and woofer of different brands. I'd recommend Massive Audio CK or RK series as they have very good woofers that should have more midbass output and power handling than an average speakers.

This is an example of coaxial in stock locations failing to produce good highs. It is typical.

OP - you can spend as little or as much as you want on tweeters. What you want is good mounting options. tweeter placement and aiming will determine what you hear. Properly chosen and placed, one pair is plenty in the car. Dash corners is fine, aim them your face.
