What kind of subs can i get for $400

all im saying is he should look for something he wont have to invest more money into later. unless hes gunna really get into caraudio
eventually we all outgrow our stuff..lol i mean when we first started we all did small with a 10'' or 12'' next thing we know were shopping for alternators and dynamat..stuff we never thought we would ever need..and when you have a big truck like he does you get really addicted to this stuff..especially when you see peoples reactions..you just want to go bigger and bigger..

if you got the money to invest in ur vehicle then sure go with fi.
if not go with alpine or kicker.
The subs themselves require absolutely no vehicle investments. It is the amps. If you buy a BTL, you can power it with 500 rms and need no vehicle modifications. Therefore, the brand of subs that he chooses has nothing to do with other vehicle investments.

On another note, you're saying that Fi subs require vehicle mods because he will power them correctly. But Kicker subs wouldn't cause that problem. Okay. So an appropriately powered Kicker Solo X 18 would require no vehicle investments? Are you done posting yet?

Indeed. A Fi BTL on that amp would not need an extra battery, alternator, etc. Imagine that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

BTW: did you even ask what he wanted in a sub? no u automatically said fi,
Nope. If you read, something you are not doing, clearly he asks if Fi is a good brand. My response: yeah. That's it. Not a recommendation, just an answered question.

who said a soloX i was thinking along the lines of l7 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I was pointing out a problem in your logic. But you still don't get it apparently. Oh well.

I was looking up the Apline Amp he has.. Is it the PDX 1000.1? I mean by all mean I would probably go with just one 15" Soundsplinter RL-P. If you port and tune it right then with the amp he has it should hit pretty hard and still have good sound quality. $335 for one I'm sure +shipping. But if I had $400 for subs, that's what I would get. It can handle 500-1000 watts RMS and you can choose a 4Ohm DVC or a 2Ohm DVC to fit the amp. I'm not sure if it can take a 1Ohm load.

I bought it about 4 years ago still going strongat my local audio store in Chicago
i wish alpine would go back and make those again..there new stuff is nice too..but the old orginal stuff cant be beat..and they still command a high price if you can find them too..
