the original 40 and 44 series flowmaster not the delta flow. will have a aggressive sound the magnaflow has a performance sound not deep and burly like borla or flowmaster
i love my super 44 flowmaster it has a v8 rumble from my 4.3L
My parents GC with the 4.0 and 40 series has been mistaken for the 5.2 a stupid amount of times. Obviously when you compare them side by side it's not the same but just hearing it for the first time at idle and take off you'd think it was.

I had a 1st gen s10 with a mildly built 4.3 (bored .30 over, custom grind cam, ported heads, msd ignition, k&n filter, shift kit & corvette servo's, 2500 stall conveter, 3:73 gears, limit slip diff... It moved along pretty good!
The exhaust ran from the stock manifolds to a dual in/single out hi-flow cat-converter, single in/dual out flowmaster 40 series, 3" tips... Sounded really good from an idle all the way to the upper mid rpms, after that it sounded a little raspy...
Before that it had the same exhaust set-up but with a short glass pack that was y'ed, it sound ok from an idle to mid rpms, at rpms it got VERY LOUD and RASPY!!!
