What kicker amp...?

Hi all,

Ive searched the forum, but ive failed to find a thread on my 'help'.

I'd like to know, from the current Kicker range of amps, what kicker amp car run 2 S15L74s. I know the 2 x 2ohm DVCs with the 2500.1 is a match made in heaven, but ive got two 4ohm DVCs and have a feeling my Lanzar 2000d may not be powerful enough. Well, apart from the fact that i love kicker gear and want to eventually completely kicker out my car...

i know two 1000.1s or two 1500.1s (one on each sub) will be a good match but if it was 1 amp, which one and how to configure.

Any advice appreciated all as i rate this site as one of the best on the web!

i run a single 1500.1 on each of my 15" L7's and love it. with that said you can run both on a single 1500.1 if you have a big box. that is how my system started. but i'm runiing each sub in 5 cubes ported so 800+ RMS each is plenty

( i say 800 because 1500.1 is well underrated)

build a large well built box and you will have more bass then you could ever want. if yoru lanzar does put out true RMS then 1600 will be enough

you could run it parallel/parallel which would give a 1ohm load. it is below specs but many people run them that way with no problem.( as a side note i am not one of those people) but i thought i would mention it since your want to stay with kicker

i would LOVE to run my set up like yours (two 1500.1s on two subs), but limited space so the two 2cuft boxes sealed are the biggest i can go.

The Lanzar does put out 1600wrms true power, but i guess im just being silly spending more money just to go kicker. I just wish Kicker would get on with a 1ohm stable amp already. Even their 10kwrms warhorse is 2ohm stable.

I have a friend that is running his 1500.1 at 1 ohm. The amp works flawlessly... I'd say try it at 1 ohm and if it doesn't work for you then look for another solution.

If a 1500.1 works @ 1ohm, then i would prefer a 2500 running @ 1ohm at about half gain maybe?

my friend also ran his zx1500.1 at 1 ohm all day with no issues as well. I would prefer to run that amp at 2 ohms, but i wouldn't hesitate to run it at 1 ohm if i had to. Great amp, more than enough if you're not competing

yeah im running two 1500s at 1ohm daily...havent had any problems...the 1500 would be plenty for both of them...

I have them in two sealed boxes so i would have thought a 1500 may be just a little bit short of power?

well the amp puts out around 1700 at 2ohms...so if you run it at one i think itll plenty loud.... but i think you should definitely get a ported box with the L7s...make them much louder.
