Just some pictures of the new Rogue Audio 66 line preamp, testing it with one monoblock.

Listening test, using an ancient Realistic bookshelf speaker, 12awg flat stranded wire and PG interconnects. Can't wait to get it installed in the real setup in my apartment...

The remote is neat...the volume pot is motorized, and the remote controls that. So there's no additional wiring in the signal path.

How often do those tubes Poof? How many is a few years' supply?

How often do those tubes Poof? How many is a few years' supply?

The tubes in the preamp are good for two years...maybe three if they don't see a lot of use. Same thing for the little driver tube on the monos. The big power triodes actually last longer, I'll probably go three years or a little more between changing those out.

I'll post some glowing shots tonight, but I think the operating points that Rogue uses for the 12AU7s are really low...so there isn't a whole lot of filament glow. The big tubes have thoriated tungsten filaments, so they're going to light up like a Christmas tree no matter how hard they're being run //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
