What ive been doing lately...operation door panels...

Well now...A while ago i decided I wanted to fit a 6.5" component set into each front door of mine...

Went with Kicker RS 6.5's...off of a ZX350.2

Which basically meant fabbing some new door panels...

I used the existing door panel and did some cutting and ended up with this...

Wish iw ould have taken more pics but ehhhhhhh.

Here it is stretched out and ready for glass:

Did a few layers of glass/mat...then some bondo work...

heres a crappy cell phone pic of bondo work:

And I decided to cover it rather than paint it.

And I ended up with this:

dont mind my **** fleece....I wanted to add some extra padding to the door due to my velvet material being very thin and I didnt want the hard door panel feel to it.

now I have to figuire out where I'm going to place my 2nd tweeter at..thinking about moving them to the a pillars...

2 in each a pillar...since I doubt i can fit 2 of them in each sail panel where my existing tweeters are...without some heavy modding. And I'm not sure if i'd like them in the door panels either.

Suggestions for the tweeters?

You don't have to like the velvet.

I won't take it personally. I would love to do suede...But $$$$$$ that I don't have.

I needed something to cover them in. And I already had the velvet on the interior so i decided i'll just throw it on the panels for now until i figure out what i'm going to do with the interior.

and btw...vinyl wrapping is a *****. I'm good on that. haha.

Suggestions for the tweeters?

I would put 2 pairs in the door panel, and keep the tweets in the sail. That way you can aim and point the ones in the door panel till you have a low, but proper stage. Then cross the ones in the sail panel at like 8-10khz and they will bring your stage height up.

Looks really good. Just gave me some ideas.

Maby I should get my hands dirty and redo my door panels. Hummmm

But I think i'm getting to that point where I realized it was a little over the top...lol my interior is gettin an overhaul this year when I figure out what I'm going to do with it.
