i got my new box in....and this one doesnt have to be shoved into place so there is room for it to slide around in the back of my jeep....as of now im at school and im not looking to bolt it down so i was wondering what are some alternatives you guys have so successfully keep a box in its place?...

gracias

I dont think velcro would do it, unless you could get a large peice of it. I still wouldnt trust it though. Other that bolting/bracketing I think your stuck, lol.

You could put a strap around it. Far more ghetto then bolting/bracketing around it. Bracket is probably the easiest way. Just put L brackets around the box (screw them to the floor itself, u do not have to screw them onto the box)

Look up under the jeep and see what you might have in the way (gas tank, fuel lines, brake lines etc) and make sure your clear. I prob wouldnt use anything more thank an inch inch&a half long. Just double check to make sure you dont puncture anything. And you should screw them to the box, thats the purpose for getting them. Just bolting small(er) ones to the floor and not the box would still allow ti to possibly tople out or over.

I've used self tapping screws before but the best way is to use bolts to attach it to the body of the car. Mine is held in with stainless bolts, stainless washers and rubber washers. Keeps the water out and the air in.

I wouldn't use velcro in a truck with an open cabin like the Cherokee. If you get in an accident, you don't want 150 lbs of box and speaker to end up in the front seat with you. Ratcheting tie down straps might work as long as you have something secure to strap them to.

oh dont worry, it just bounces off the back of the seats.......trust me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

^^^ serious or kidding???

yeah i dont want to bolt it down cause as of right now the car is still a lease (odds are im buying it when its done) i have 4 triangle shaped things bolted to the trunk i guess for luggage tie downs and i could ratchet strap through them....hmm
