Not that context seems to matter a whit to you, but when he said this in February of 2020, there were less than FOURTEEN cases in the United States.

FOURTEEN among 330 MILLION people. Would it really have made sense for everyone to mask up at the time? Do you close your windows when rain is predicted for California?

Still waiting for you to explain the "en masse" departure of healthcare workers that is threatening providers nationwide.
Still waiting for the physics lesson on masks that stop small particles but pass larger ones (like a screen door that keeps out mosquitoes but lets buttterflies in and out).

Context doesn’t matter when the virus is small enough to fit through the mask holes. That’s how it is no matter what point in time we’re talking about. Point is masks don’t work for covid. Fauci personally advised people not to wear masks, because the virus passes right through.
