I haven't followed the whole (mind numbing) "Trump didn't say that" debacle, but it doesn't seem he ever claimed to be directly quoting Trump, yet there seem to be people who want treat his post as a direct quote. So yeah, Rob could post something like "that's my opinion of Trump's speech," conversely people could stop demanding that Rob come up with a direct quote especially since we all know the direct quote doesn't exist.

Why does that make one an idiot or gullible? I think it probably got out of the lab myself, but it is certainly probable that it jumped from bat to humans. Bats do venture out nightly. Is it really anymore likely that the virus got out of a controlled lab than it is that made the jump from bat to humans? That's why the flu will always be with us - it jumps from animals to humans and vice versa. That's why Covid will be with us, it jumps from animals to humans and vice versa - remember the great mink slaughters? They've documented Covid in zoo animals and wild deer. The virus jumping from animal to humans is not an unlikely scenario.
