The free credit reports ran by annualcreditreport.com don't automatically give you your credit score. That website is mainly to help people stop/catch identity theft by allowing consumers an avenue to review the items on their credit report, for free, once every 12 months and likewise make it easy(ier) to dispute the information on that report if any of it is inaccurate/fraudulent. If you want to be given a credit score, you must purchase it from the company (Equifax, Transunion, Experian).where are you guys going to get the scores??
Again, I went to equifax... got a whole crapton of info I already knew about myself, and no score
Over 800 is outstanding.Mine is 730
That good?
I didn't know that it was a secret. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gifAnd the formula used to score credit is a trade secret, proprietary, and known in detail by no one outside of the respective credit reporting agency.
468-18-9481 why?What is your SS # please? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
Not sure if that was serious or sarcastic.....but yes, they are a HUGE secret. They allow consumers to know little bits and pieces..generalities, but the actual formula in thorough detail is absolutely a heavily guarded secret known by very few even within the organizations themselves. And they will vary from company to company....which is why you'll receive different scores from the 3 major reporting agencies.I didn't know that it was a secret. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gif

The report is free...the score is not //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
No credit reporting agency will score your credit for free. This is how they make their money. And the formula used to score credit is a trade secret, proprietary, and known in detail by no one outside of the respective credit reporting agency.
Once every 12 months you are allowed to obtain a free credit report from all three major credit reporting agencies.Very interesting.. I would have never guessed.
So.. is it once a year per site?? or can you only do one of those 3 sites?
I would try to go direct from the companies themselves. Or ask to see your score next time you apply for a loan. And to squeak in ur opinion, is there a good site or place to go through to get your score from all 3 bureaus?

Though, IMO, credit scores are completely overrated. I've seen 18yr olds who've had a single credit card for no more than 6 months with a score of nearly 800, and other people who've had 10yrs+ of flawless credit, small credit card balances, only a single installment loan and a house loan with a low 700's score. There is, in my opinion (and the opinions of most of the people I worked with), a severe lack in consistency in the scoring. Which is why we didn't use them at all at the bank I worked at. We used your credit report as a basis for our decision, but not the score.
