Believe it or not, a lot of this bvll$hit was going on before President Obama got in office. It's the quality that people are paying for. You've never tried anything else worth mentioning please dont talk about loudness like you know what loud is when the loudest you've ever gotten would probably be 130 to mid 135 db range, its completely out of your element man. EVERYONE and their grandmas have heard a JL setup before. Its the stuff that a lot of us first started out with when we were noobs that thought JL was the Sh*t and nothing can match them.

And I'm not comparing them to a 3500 watt competition subwoofers so by no means am I calling them competitive subs and by know mean do I need over 130db. I like a good loud enough to rattle my car with quality sound subwoofer and JL is doing it for me. That's all and to each his own.

There's a guy up this way that does 150.4-150.7 with a pair of W7's on two JL 1200 HD amps. Not too shabby IMO even sounds quite good.

And I won't disagree it is a pricey sub but it's like anything else - you pay for quality and the name . I buy all samsung TVs when I can get a good price on a cheaper and lower brand name but I pay for the name and the slight tad of overall quality.

I sold my w7 and a guy with a infinity SUV on 24"s bought - he set it up and banged so hard in his amp and his little SUV. I couldn't get that in my full sized conversion van. That W7 was a beast in my opinion , it was in a HO JL box and cost me 450$ . I don't pay full price on most of my stuff .
