What is your definition of BNIB????

You mean like the pair of shoes I bought that were gently worn for half a day by someone else //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif
sure, if you have a nice little quiet desk job!! if you were doin construction in a pair of kenneth cole loafers and tried to sell them as NIB, well, THOSE aren't gently used.

BNIB= in original package, unopened, new been used, no way it can arrive DOA, expected to be how it was when it left the manufactures factory.
See....now this is what I don't understand.

You expect a brand new in box item to be unopened, never used and exactly how it was when it left the factory. Yet, you say it can't be DOA. Well....if the seller never opened the item, and never tested it, how can you hold them responsible for an item that was DOA when it left the factory?? I mean....hey, that's what you want...an item as it was when it left the factory. If that means it left DOA, then that's now your problem as a buyer to deal it and fix it. It arrived as you requested; unopened, never used, as it was from the factory //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

To me, BNIB is an item that comes with all original paperwork and packaging materials, and never put into actual personal use. But if someone has opened the package to inspect it and hooked it up temporarily for testing purposes, that still qualifies as a BNIB item. Only with the assurance that the item is not DOA //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Though I do expect the condition to be 100% mint. If you can't handle an item without scratching it, you're an idiot.

Thus the need for this thread;)

To me BNIB means that the product was never used. The box could have been opened but the plastic covering shall remain untouched or barely untouched for those pics.

Gotta have pics when you wanna sell something right?

Although the box was opened, the product is still new and will still be in the box when it comes to you. (I would probably get a slightly larger box and add some cushioning and then put the sub box in, but thats just me.)

i would say it depends on the product. for electronics, it would be BNIB if it came with all the original packing material and never put into personal use. for a collectible, BNIB is it never has been out of its packaging at all. evver. truly mint

BNIB means Brand New in Boxhowever I have sold products that were new but after I tested them

as to make sure they worked properly

Last week I sold a BNIB 500D,but I used it for a few minutes so I didnt

get a angry buyer because I was unsure if it worked as it was part of a package deal I got on trade

and since I have no history on it id feel better knowing it left working 100%
Butt ***** In Bed?

But my car audio is collectible;)

good point. i'm starting to think how my post translates along the lines of collectible classic automobiles or collectible music instruments... they have to be used, but very professionally to keep their value... think stradivari violins...

bleah... bnib is a subjective term ... whatever gets you confident you're not shopping for junk...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
