Seing as thought there are many a scammer out there trying to unload their garbage as "new" or "BNIB," I felt that it was necessary to find out what your definition of the term is. It's a widely used term, yet apparently quite a subjective one on this and other forums where members are selling their equipment. Please respond with you subjective definition of the term "BNIB."

Here's mine to start...

BNIB (Brand New In Box):

Item is factory sealed in the orginal manufacturers box with all packaging present. It has not been opened. The item is not discernable from one that just left the factory floor or one that has been in someone's closet for 6 months. The item may have indentifiable marks such as finger prints and/or light scratches from normal handling.

new (n

) adj. new·er, new·est

1. Having been made or come into being only a short time ago; recent: a new law.

2. a. Still fresh: a new coat of paint.

b. Never used or worn before now: a new car; a new hat.

3. Just found, discovered, or learned: new information.

4. Not previously experienced or encountered; novel or unfamiliar: ideas new to her.

5. Different from the former or the old: the new morality.

6. Recently obtained or acquired: new political power; new money.

My take on BNIB is never been used, in original manufactures packaging, and in factory condition. You should expect the product to be like you just bought it new off a store shelf.

I used BNIB in my amp sales. Both were as described above, one box I opened to take pic's of the product though, I don't think that effects anything.

Brand new in box.... thats all that needs to be said //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif e1 knows what is means.

to me NIB is opened, gently used for 12hrs or less

So you'd pay MSRP for an item off the shelf that has been opened?
Nope, which is why when I sold them I assumed I wouldn't be getting MSRP (which never happens anywhere sealed or not) or even close to the deals around on sealed box product.

BNIB describes condition to me, but buying from somebody online and not an authorized dealer lowers the value, new or not...plain and simple.

That's not NIB, if ya ever list something... better clarify on that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. NEW IN BOX=NEW //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif.... at least to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. MINT is something used but good as new to me, or like new.

BNIB means Brand New in Box

however I have sold products that were new but after I tested them

as to make sure they worked properly

Last week I sold a BNIB 500D,but I used it for a few minutes so I didnt

get a angry buyer because I was unsure if it worked as it was part of a package deal I got on trade

and since I have no history on it id feel better knowing it left working 100%
