What is up with Soundstream

Thinking about buying an Audiopipe 3000 but I think the Soundstream would have better SQ.
On the website, they rate their amps at .5 thd with 14.4 volts. Audiopipe doesnt have a thd rating in their catalog. So I would say your guess is probably correct.

There are lots of positive reviews out there for SS Reference series amps. I think there were even some 'guts pics' over at DIYMA of a new REF amp. The only aspect of amp design Grizz might have been involved with would be related to crossover design.

Honestly, I just don't get the whole fascination with Audiopipe. That stuff may do rated but, it looks really cheap. I mean REALLY cheap. And whether it's deserved or not, kinda has a sketchy rep from the people I've talked to.

Gut shots in that link I posted earlier.

Clean builds.

I can't speak for any of the other "new" SS lines, but I can vouch for the DTR series. They are legit and as far as I am concerned, the best clean power per dollar amp on the market. I had a DTR3400 and it was solid. Clamped it doing 2679 @ 1.2. I ran it @ .5 daily for months and it barely got above room temp. I used to burp it @ .25 all the time and never sent it into protect once. And this is on stock electrical and one 90ah batt in the trunk.

The DTR's share no parts with any of the Epsilon owned SoundStream products.

It's cheap and does rated. They are all around good amps, especially the new AQX series. Whats so hard to understand? Some people do not care enough to spend an extra $400 for a "warranty"//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I bought one of the new Soundstream reference amps as soon as they were available, and I think it sounds amazing. same crossovers, ss filters as the ones i had from the 1990's
