What is the differences between the CDT line?

I asked this question in a different forum, and got no answers, so maybe you guys can help.

As far as I know, there are 3 different styles of EF-61 Components. Regular cones, Fiberglass cones, and Carbon Fiber cones. Other than a couple watts different power handling, what are the differences between these models? Does anyone know how each one sounds different, or which one might be the best decision? Would the $50 upgrade to the TW-25 be worth it over the TW-24?

Also, if anyone has any experience with the ES-610, WoofersETC has them for $300, and do you think they would be worth the $100 upgrade over the EF-61's? I was sort of trying to keep this system low budget, but if I knew the Es-610s were significantly better, I would consider them.

Thanks for any help, sorry for all the questions.

The ES is SIGNIFICANTLY better than the CF series. I know a number of people who have used the ES series (I use some of them myself) and love them.

Yea, I've even heard that the CL line isn't even made by CDT, they just threw the CDT badge on it. It seems like that would be a horrible move for a company with a respectable high end line, but what do I know?

I was just curious what the different cones would sound like. Which type of cones do you have? Have you heard any other versions of them? I really don't know what the difference would be between the normal, carbon fiber, and fiberglass cones would be.

Also, if the EF line is significantly better than the CL line, does anyone know if the ES line is noticably better than the EF?

Edit: I think those components I was looking at HERE Have been discontinued by CDT, and replaced by the Gold ES line. Is buying discontinued speakers a good idea? I assume I won't be able to return them? Is it worth it to spend the extra money, and worth the risk for (presumably) discontinued speakers?

Oh alright. So i suppose if I pick the EF speakers, or the ES speakers, they'll both sound fine? $300 for those speakers seems like a really good deal. I might go for that. I guess there isn't much difference in the cone types, or else somebody probably would have commented on that.

I just bought a set of EF-61CFi/25 they are the fully upgraded set with the new 560 crossover and the t25 tweets. got them for alot less then 300. PM EXIGE on this forum he helped me out out with them he is a dealer. There are a few other dealers here to. I like mine so far.

there's nothing wrong with discontinued speakers. They're still new.
CDT doesn't make their own drivers. They use a buildhouse, like just about everyone else. I seem to recall them sourcing their drivers from Vifa.

You are correct about their drivers comming from vifa. If you look around enough and do your research you can get all of CDTs ES-Gold drivers for about 1/8 - 1/4 the price by just buying vifa drivers. I bought their ES-01 drivers for 200 bucks. 2 months later I found the same driver made by vifa and bought them for 45. I then sold the ES-01s for 150.
