What is the difference between 12" subs and 15" subs?

Perhaps the best way to proceed with an argument is to define the conditions in which your argument is true.

For example, there can be two aspects to this discussion...

1. The physical parts stay the same except for the cone, where a cone of a larger diameter is used.

2. The measured parameters stay the same except for Sd, where the Sd is increased by using a cone with a larger diameter.

They are two very different instances and I think this is where Foote's confusion is coming from.

anyone have an example of a line of sub where the smaller size is more efficient/ louder/ lower in the same design of enclosure (setup)?

i want a yes or no answer from all of you... NOW!

 
dang I still want him to prove me wrong the square woofers are better then round woofers.
proving square woofers are better than round is essentially proving that bigger diameter subs are better than small... if you believe the only difference is cone area
