what is the best bang for the buck sound deadener?

I got a couple boxes of the second skin spl tiles, covered my car with that shit, made everything sound a thousand times better, no vibrations what so ever. they adhesive/rubber is thick as hell, and the foil is just as bad ***.

i had dynamat pro in my last build and I can honestly say that second skin made a world of difference, i do warn you to wear thick gloves, like I said the foil is thick and is razor sharp

Thanks for the commpliments guys!

I saw the reccomendation of Damplifier Lite above.

This product we no longer make, but we have done some exciting things with our regular Damplifier.

The current Damplifier that you see on the Second Skin website is the same stuff we have been selling for a while now:

1.5 mm thick

Butyl adhesive

4 mil foil (black)

This is on our site now, with a discount coupon code available that will take 20% off:

20dampmm

The new Damplifier (which is in stock but not shipping quite yet) has gone through an amazing overhaul. We reduced and changed the filler content in the butyl rubber adhesive, added a new EPDM resin, and increased the foil thickness by 50%

1mm thick

premium grade butyl/epdm hybrid adhesive

6 mil thick foil (silver on this batch only)

The product is thinner, and weighs 25% less with no loss in damping performance and no increase in cost.

So a better, lighter and thinner product with amazing vibration damping, and insane adhesion.

Going to be a pretty big hit!

To answer the OP question, there are a ton of quality dampers out there:

Dynamat Extgreme

Hushmat

Stinger Road kill

SDS

Raammat BXTII

Any of those will do the trick. For a good value, Raammat is difficult to beat, as is the CLD Tiles when applied in the reccomended method

Since the Damplifier rep is here I would like to hear first hand about the advantages of Damplifier vs Damplifier Pro.

Im ready to buy some deadening here in the next week for my truck and am trying to decide if the extra money is worth it or not.

Currently, the Damplifier that we have on our site (with the coupon code I listed above) is an amazing product.

We developed Damplifier to go head to head with products like Dynamat Extreme and Hushmat, and beat them

The foil is the same thickness but has a very strong temper (hard foil, not soft) so it, along with the high grade butyl adhesive will yeild awesome damping performance. Most people want to compare Damplifier PRO to Dynamat, Hushmat, Rammat bxt II etc, but really, it is our entry level mad Damplifier that compares with these high quality mats.

Damplifier Pro has a foil that is 50% thicker (same strong temper) and has a thicker adhesive layer. The adhesive has a very high rubber content and is a premium grade. Becuase Damplifier Pro has a thicker/stronger foil and more adhesive, it will provide better damping performance, which compared to Damplifier or the other brands listed.

Hope that helps!
