What Is The Best Balance Of Bass, Mids & Highs For A System?

My fren has one 12" MTX Thunder 8500 dual 4ohm sub. Pushes 500 watts rms. He has a Coustic 1200DB mono amp on it. for mids and highs he has 4 Boston Acoustics 6x9's on the doors and a pair of Beyma 6" midbass speakers. He has it on Kicker 650watt 4channel amp. My question is Does a good system requires more bass than mids and highs, if so, how much? If not, what is the best balance of the mids, highs, bass?

A good system should reproduce what it is fed. If the song has more bass the system should play with more bass, if the song has no bass, that's how the system should play it. As far as power required to get the mids and highs to balance with te subs, there is no set formula for it. Get more than enough power for each and then turn one or the other down as needed to get it to balance out.

You can't tell how much bass, or mids or treble for that matter, a system will have just by the amount of watts or speakers. A great deal of it has to do with enclosures, installation, cancellations, cabin gain, etc. The only thing you can do is get what you can afford and what you perceive as a well balanced system and tune from there. Don't get a 2kw sub to go along with 5.25 coaxes off of head unit power.

YOUR ears should tell you what the best mix is. Everyone is different. Whatever you think is lacking upgrade/improve it.
