What is the best amp from best buy?

i bought a kenwood 1700watt amp from there and it is shutting off when the volume goes up for a while and i am very unpleased with it, it hits my 4 10's hard before it shuts off but its not even getting hot when it goes into protect mode so i am thinking about taking it back while i still can, what would you guys suggest i swap it for? does best buy carry any amps that would be better than this one?

Nothing from best buy is the best, but if you must get Rockford or Alpine...

i am looking for the most power that i can get from an amp from best buy. preferably one that is 1ohm stable but i haven't seen one from there that is 1ohm stable, ideas? what amp (rockford, alpine ect.) and what model of that amp would be the biggest bang for my buck, i have a little over $300 invested in this amp and i don't mind paying a little more if there is something else there that would be better?

maybe i am mistaken on my wiring... if you had 4 8ohm subs with all the positives together and all the negatives together wouldn't that create a 2ohm load? basically all the positive leads are put together and all negative leads are put together at the amp, not really but that is the best i can explain it. there is 2 +'s and 2 -'s on the amp but it is a mono amp so basically the extra positive and negative are just there for ease of use when hooking up multiple subs, so i actually have 2 +'s from 2 subs going into one of the + on the amp and vice versa for the -'s... hopefully that is understandable LOL

yes that is correct thank you... now what amp would you folks recommend? i want the best (highest powered rms) amp they have, that may actually be close to its power range. basically i am looking for what ever is the biggest baddest that they offer.

that kenwood's 2 ohm stable only, what load are you showing it?

There's an identical amp to that, but it's an excellon, and is 1 ohm stable.

I believe it's 1080rms @ 1 ohm cea-2006 certified.

they were going for ~$260 on ebay.

Never had a problem with my kenwood amps, they don't make very large amps, but the quality is awesome, and they do more than rated.

there are only 2 i see on there website for the rockford but usually when i go to diffrent ones they suprise you with diffrent models but here are 2 online ones.

punch 600.1bd 600w @ 2ohms $500 or punch 325.1bd 325w @ 2ohms $250.

i picked up a limeted edition punch 150 at cardomain a few months ago $300

check out the birthsheet on the amplifier section not to shabby for the price.

Why BB? You can easily attain more power cheaper elsewhere. I'd never buy any audio from a department store. They mark up their prices.
