What is port noise?

That is exactley what I am looking for.The port is (2) 4"x12.5" straight tube.Thats what is confusing me....I have the ports in front of me and they dont appear to rake up as much space physically as they do on paper.The ports are roughly .72685 cu ft.But as I said,when they are infront of me they dont take up anywhere near a cubic foot.What the he!! am I missing here.

Your math isnt right. It should be like this:

I'm assuming you're using pvc, because you said straight tube. OD on 4inch sch 40 pvc is 4.5, so the radius is 2.25.

[pi ( r^2)] x length x2

3.14159(2.25^2) x 12.5-.75(assuming wood thickness) x 2

3.14159(5.0625)(11.75)(2) = 373.75

373.75/1728 = .2162 cu/ft disp for both port tubes
