If you don't have the tools, money and or more time to con someone you know who owns them into letting you borrow them.
Building your own box, yeah you can get louder and probably better SQ, but for your purpose, sounds like you want something cheap that doesn't take up alot of space. A small 10 in a prefab probably do you just fine. Only place you will really save yourself money on a system is if you were planning a custom box (save yourself a ton by doing it yourself) and the actual install.
I am not really interested in it, but I have found my current setup getting in the way. This may be an option depending on the sub, but I dont know how it compares to a standard box. Thanks.
if you are going to spend that much on a box, you could even go to a local shop and get them to build you a custom enclosure for whatever driver you want. and it will sound better than the sealed or prefab
There are no local shops around that are worth anything or do custom works. There are 2 stores, one pushes kicker, the other JL. Since it is a sealed enclosure, there is really no "tuning" that can be done, so all I need is to match up air space, right? Thanks.
