What is an acceptable range of voltages for standing and running car batteries?

You said car off.

Anything above 12v is fine. My XP 3000 sits at 13.03 but my 3 year old yellow top sits at 12.48.

When the car is on. 13.8v-14.4

I said off, and on, and playing music. I probably should have used commas and better wording lol.

I just tested but I think my dmm is broken or something, the reading keeps going up even when its not testing any metal. It gave me 12.3 at resting and 14.2 at running.

that sounds good.

12.3V at rest is getting pretty low...seems like the batt is fairly worn out at that point.

or could have been sitting for a little white.

But as long as its above 12v that is fine.

My friends brother had a battery that was sitting at 9v. thats when it when junk.
