Pure SQ subs are subs designed primarily for sound quality applications and not particularly suited for extreme output but rather extreme sonic accuracy.

At the other end of the spectrum are SPL subs - subs designed for the afore-mentioned extreme output while usually sacrificing some degree of accuracy for overall volume.

In the middle of those two camps are subs often termed as SQL drivers.... subs that are somewhat the best of both worlds by being capable of producing more than adequate output while sacrificing little to no accuracy when doing so.

Off the top of my head (since I'm a big fan of their gear) he top two Diamond Audio lines, the D6 and the D9 lines, is a good example.

As far as others go (and I'm certain the list is long and varied regarding subs that could be considered "SQL" subs) I'm no real expert and hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge than I possess will chime in soon.

If I had the cash I'd go with a D9 (just because I want one) but since what I'm running now is satisfactory I cannot really justify a change unless something breaks.

Nobody ever shows any love for the TC-3000 its a great sounding sub and get pretty dang loud and it hits **** near everynote i throw at it.
