im planning on putting a self powered dual 15" or mono 18" subwoofer by jbl or cerwin vega in the back of my cousins excursion i was wondering if i could even get a dc to ac converter to even power it and will it sound right since most suv's are open spaced and my neighbor wants to backdoor and get a bose subwoofer shown here

yeah im ready for some long throwing bass

were doing this so we can goto the clubs and pop the doors open and over power someone who comes through with the average setup and i may get 1 full range pa speaker to slave onto the subs onboard amp and add a mic for fun

please tell me this will work how many extra batteries will i probably need

and once he starts to like the sub hes gonna want me to install some pa speakers in the back too with swivel stands so he can jump out at the club and hook up a mic and freestyle

is this vision even possible

I would recommend powering the PS speakers and subs of a car audio amp. An amp made to run off of 12 v will power those speakers fine, and it will eb much more efficienct then using a converter.

Not to mention, probably cheaper. You can find just the speakers and subwoofers that are in JBL cabs or Vega Cabs online.

Personally, I would go with a folded bass horn design with compression driver tops.

Obviously normal car audio subs don't throw very far, the sound typically being confined to the car. Installing some PA style setup is really all I can think of.

yeah i heard about the machs imma check into them

cryc yeah thats what i was thinking of too a folder horn style earthquake sub by cerwin vega or the afterburner thing is i think i may have to convert the xlr to bare wire to rig it to an amp my cousin just called and said he want to push it with two of his big bang planet audio amps

we gone do this

i cant wait to feel those pa horns itch the back of my neck and that bass to unbolt the seat from the floor

hey those machs look good and low profile like pro audio woofer they look like they bang anyone used them before?

:edit:

i just read the specs 28hz yes! finna see if ebay got them mach 5's for myself he still want a folded horn im finna throw like 2 of those in my 93 suburban

Most if not all pro subs do not play deep bass for there size as most people in the club cant tell if the note is at 20hz or 50 hz they just know its loud. If you want loud go pro if you want deep go car.
