i would personally look into other subs rated for about the same power that in my opinion sound better.. i just dont like poly cones so a type r wouldnt be on my list of things to buy but a pair of sa-12's would in my opinion be worth a good look as well as dc level 2, or 3's maybe some IA lethal injections.. look around and see what kind of deals you can find one of these just some options

Looking for subs in the under $150 ea category.

Because they want more power, but are too stingy to buy real power amps..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif
I kid, but not really
In most cases I would agree lol

I run my ab 1100.1 at .25 daily:yumyum:

dont wanna sound like a jerk but,

if your budget is $150 each and your looking at type Rs; sound quality wont be to big of an issue

worry more about the box and making it the right size.

final impedance wont make most set ups sound any different other than more or less wattage

No option for strapped @ 0.25ohm? WTF bro? You need da low ohms for da madd deebeez. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Are you trying to say ap type r's are not a sq sub?
Its a decent sub but im saying if you are really into SQ, the type R isn't the best choice.

Its a good mix of sound quality and output but to me it seems to be more SPL oriented

I would do an RE SE or even a JL w3 for budget installs

Would you go with the re se series over an alpine type r?
