What if you cant afford the BEST equipment?

I have to agree with the guy, I'm 16 and make 7$ an hour and I can't really afford to go out and drop 500$ on a RE XXX sub (EVEN THOUGH I'D KILL SOMEONE TO BE ABLE TO). and most of the time, i dont get any replies on my questions, maybe because they dont care or maybe because it sounds dumb i dunno, but there has been many people that have helped me out and im appreciative of that also

i know some may not agree with me. but who cares.... it isn't about owning the best equipment...

if someone is asking what box for their xxx and you have never heard (let alone had one to play with) you shouldn't be replying. for instance if someone asked how much power could a set of boston pros take and some one that uses them says 250watts and you say bull shit and have never put that much to them you are out of line. just a thought

Most of my questions get answered because I use proper grammer and punctation so that you may properly communicate the questions.

WHAT hitz da hardest ya for 75$ is not going to get the same response as 'What high output sub would you reccomend with a budget of $75. I will be using a sealed box and a MD1 amplifier.'

Just a tought....

Wow guys! I leave the forum for the evening and come back to some amazing posts! Thank you soo much! I must agree with most, if not all, of the thoughts written!

.....I have wanted for so long to start a thread about install quality and durability, and I have saved pictures from here and other sites, forums, pages etc. to prove my point. BUT, I know I would get in trouble for startin' that thread! LOL!

Anyways... a lil' off topic there.

I do believe you can take the lower end/cost equipment and make it sound good as long as it is properly installed and balanced with the rest of the system. That is what I have been doing for years and thanx' to guys like you, I have been able to learn and make my budget system stand up and be noticed. I grew up in a time/era when women were the people cleaning the wheels on the car of the competition vehicle, not the ones actually competing, so it is nice to have the support of a place like this and of course to see many women in this sport winning competitions. Most girls aren't googly and get all excited over SPL, like us select few.

Keep up the great work guys and we will see you around the forum! I love what you do and I cant wait to read more and learn more from you!

I myself have an old JL 12W04 (discontinued sub) in a sealed box that still 'kicks' the trunk lid. I just received some new subs, (no--unfortunately not JL) and my new amp will be here next week, and I am actually going to try my hand at building a wheel well enclosure with the subs raised above floor level and angled towards the back of the trunk with the amp "Floating" between them. Wish me luck! LOL! Gawd Knows I will need it... yes...pictures will be taken. I cant show what it is right now... its nasty! lol!

I didn't read the thread because it's long and I'm lazy, but I always say get the best equipment you can afford IF it will get you what you want ...
If it's not going to get you what you want, why buy it ?
