The set screw is there for retention, not conductivity. Ideally the boss of the adapter would be a press fit to the actual amp input. This would provide the most contact surface, then shorten the set screw so it doesn't stick up as much.

Seriously though? Isnt it overkill? People actually notice gains by adding dual inputs? Why wouldnt most amp manufactures make them with dual inputs if it truly made a difference

You'd never notice a difference by ear, unless you are dangerously overloading the power cables, which nobody does. I think the most I've ever seen someone gain was .5db.
