I am beginning to hate my liking of car audio. Seriously, everything that could go wrong basically went wrong. If I had it to do over again, I would have probably went coaxial....It just doesn't seem worth the trouble at the moment....

Anyway, I did a lot of work and not much got done. I kept on having to go back go a different direction because either things didn't fit, or looked like shit or something. I have a new plan to mount this mid. It will work but not be the "best choice" for perforamance. At this point, I am just tired of messing with it.

On for the pics:

Now here is the cause of all my problems...

I thought I could build a baffle to fix it.

Alas, it looks like shit

So I reattacked to try again:

There were some victories...

The sound deadener went on good and so did the ensolite. I didn't super-deaden as I hear the S-10 has weak door hinges anyway and didn't want to put too much weight on the door

The new plan is to cut out a ring and 'glass it to the opening. I can make this work pretty well but then hit a snag with my router and jacked up my piece of work. Worse of all, I lost the pin to the jasper jig. This really really sucks.

how do the profi's sound? It sucks knowing I had an awesome set of speakers and ended up not needing them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Youll get it figured out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I have no clue. They could not work for all I know. Didn't run wires as I spent all day trying to figure out how to mount them. I am still off tomorrow but it doesn't mean anything as I have no tool to cut the rings. I may use a jig saw if this local tool "National Tools" or something like that doesn't have jasper jigs. I really only need the pin however.

you can always use the same size drill bit. That is what i do sometimes if i can't find my pin.

doesnt look to bad but a custom grill would cover it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yea I hear that, maybe Ill have a ride I can put them in later, o well. Also how do yours vary from mine? yours are the kick bass's but they look the same as mine? I thought the first pic with the speaker in the ring look clean, maybe put some vinyl over the mdf, whatever color the doorpanel is and go that way? I think it would look good

The passenger side does not fit the same way as the driver side.

I am going use grills to cover the exposed mdf. I chose the Rockford Fosgate one with the bars. I don't really care that is says RF on them.

What the pic does not show is that part of the mdf is sticking out while some is tucked. If I glassed over it then I couldn't ever remove the door panel.

My solution will work. I am going to try that drill bit idea in a few or maybe tomorrow. I am pretty tired,

I don't think the MDF baffles look that bad. If you rounded the edges of the outer ring and wrapped it in vinyl that matches you car most people wouldn't even notice it. Or yeah just use new speaker grills.

LAwlz....

You want to fiberglass? after barely cutting a ring?

do u have any fiberglass experience? it takes a hell of a lot of work and experience to make something that will look better than what you have going.
