ADDED THIS AFTER REALIZING MY RAMBLING. I sorry for any confusion or info i missed,if there is any( im not real sure at the moment). Just kinda out of my mind between a months time of serious lack of sleep and frustration in every corner of my life....its turning in to mood swings that are on the verge of violence and getting worse(very outside of my personality). Thanks again.
Hi everybody,I was a member on the forum for a while a few years back and now im back with a proplem. Im putting a cd player in my sisters 1999 ford explorer eddie bauer edition. But straight to the point i used a scosche fdk106 harness which has 4 plug ins, there is 3 connections that plugged into the factory unit.3 of the 4 appeared to be simular in shape and size. Just one connection fit and does work, the 4 speakers work and the power fuctions the way it should(no steering wheel controls either, which is not a concern). But it was very tight,it pushed 2 of the pins out of the scosche harness, i gently plushed the back in.I looked at the unused factory plug ins and both had amp written on top. On the harness box it says for factory premium sound use fai-1a interface, i entered the part on scosche's website and found nothing .....
AH! I have looked everywhere for what to use and a straight answer, i think it is just the premium package not the mach sound package. There isnt a sub,but couldnt find anything stating the difference between premium and mach. The head unit has,am/fm, single cd and single tape deck.
I have found the following from scosche, which I have come across trying to find a STRAIGHT answer. They visually look like they would work.NONE OF WHICH I CAN FIND A FULL WIRING DIAGRAM.
FD16b and Fd16rb which is what scosche says to use, Looks like the on connection that worked on the one i have.Is it just the same? Still lacks the other connections.
While searching or trying to, i came across Fdk13b looks like 2 of the 3 connections with a set of rcas...?
I also came across one with all three plug in connections that looked perfect, cant remember what it was. I think it was metra or metro, something along those lines. I also looked at crutchfield for both the mach and premium, same stuff and confusion. The one for the mach also had the large connection as the one i have that i have no idea on its purpose or use.
If you could point me in the right direction it would be SO appreciated, I couldnt possibly explain my thanks. So thanks you in advance for what is worth...
