You file a claim with Ups/Fedex about a broken or damaged package, and the claim goes in your favor, they pay you the insurance money, and then, what do they do with the broken/damaged package? Can you buy it back from them? Like if it was a one of a kind item?

Eh this is just hypothetical, I was hoping that you could but stuff back, and if not i wanted to know what they do with it.

Well if it's damaged, they usually don't take it... as far as I know.

I shipped a 20.1 to a member here, with full insurance on it. It was damaged to where it spit out DC voltage on the speaker outputs.

I filed a claim for the cost of repairs and shipping and such. After a few months of B/S and waiting, and myself providing the original purchase receipt, it was ruled in my favor and I received a check in the mail.

The entire time, the member I shipped it to never had to turn it over to fedex.

He ended up getting it taken care of with Incriminator, and I sent him payment for the repairs and shipping after I received the insurance check!

My friend shipped a sub and it got damaged in shipping. He filed a claim and got the money back from UPS and he kept the sub. He refunded the original seller but after repairing the sub, he sold it again. He basically sold the sub twice.
