What Happens To A Over Heated Amp???

I have always used Stinger, but recentlly had a problem. I am also going to give knukonceptz a try. What Gauge wire you runnin now?
Matter of fact, im gettin my a6004t amp in the mail tomorrow or saturday. i need to order my D6 5.25 and then wanting to hook all those up and get subs this summer. knukonceptz recommended 8 gauge to me.... thats pretty thick..

8 guage is what you should use for that amp, no more no less... If you think 8 guage is thick, wait until you get voltage drops from a sub amp and get into the Big Three with 1/0 guage wiring //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

No offense, but this was a pretty pointless thread since you do not have an overheating amp...

yeah true... i guess you could say that but one of my buddys has a Ma Audio amp and he says its been smellin n heatin up like crazy and im jus gettin my amp tomorrow.. i mean i dotn want to run it forever if i know its gunna heat up...

but you got a point..

Do everything properly the first time and you wont have to worry. Get a DMM before you do any installation, so you can set your gain properly. Do not ask me what I mean by this, read the gain setting tutorial in the amp section (of this forum) and you will/should understand.
