What Happens To A Over Heated Amp???

It should'nt overheat pushing those. It will probably breath more in the trunk than under the seat.

yeah true.. it will give those speakers some pretty good power right?... if it were pushin subs.. that would be a different story.. over heating ect.

Has it ever cut off before? How do you know it is running hot? If it is to hot to the touch then there is a problem. If you gain is to high that may be the problem. There is a number of things including where it is installled.

All of my experiences with the Intake series from Audiobahn have not been good. I have owned the 8002T and my brother owned the 8000T and my buddy owns the 400 model. ALL have overheated, mine did it constantly and the gain was set correctly and accordingly with the over rated-ness in mind...

And to add on, by overheating I mean they got hot enough to go into protection mode.

If the amp is just hot to the touch, dont worry about it.. I have had an amplifier being hot enough to burn you, (slight exaggeration) but if the amplifier is operating properly therre is no problem. The top of the amoplifier is there to dissipate heat...

At one time I was running 3 A8000T amps and they all ran hot occasionally, but never died on me.

I had those 3 A8000T amps powering 6 12" subs at 2 subs per amp at 2ohms.
